Like last year, I didn't feel it at all. Even when I was already seated at our table, it didn't feel like prom. It just felt like a Saturday night with an event. My experience isn't the same with others though. Maybe someone had a much much better one than I did and maybe someone had a much much worse one than I did. On both proms, I didn't have a date. Who cares if you go stag? I had amazing friends who were with me the whole time.

For those who will be having their own prom, I wanna tell you something. Not everything will go as planned, and yes it might not always be a night to remember. The media exaggerates these things and when you expect too much just because a movie had a scene that depicted prom, that doesn't mean that that's what will happen to you. 

Hold on, I'm not telling you that you can't enjoy prom now. Each person's experience is different so who knows? Maybe you'll finally have the courage to ask him or her to prom. The whole night is up to you. You can dance with your date all night or you could ask your other friends. And just because you went stag doesn't mean you can't dance the night away! Try new things, what would you have to lose? And girls, don't be shy to ask a guy for a dance.

What I'm saying is, make the most out of your night. Whoever you're with, you should never let anything bummer you.
