If you really know me, you know that I am in love with music. I've been slipping earphones and headphones on and off ever since I can remember. I decided to make a blog post about my favourite albums. These have affected be in some kind of way, whether it be something really weird or I really liked the tune and the theme of the songs.
I plan to do this every two years. I figured that if I do this monthly or annually, I might run out of albums. Since this is the first one, there are LOTS of albums from when I really started getting into music. So yes, 72 albums. That's about 800 songs. Wow. But honestly, my saved Spotify songs are much much more than that. Because I usually can't choose which album I like better because I listen to a wide range of music--which is obviously seen above--I can't choose. So the list is in no particular order.
- Marianas Trench - Ever After
Significant song: All
No, the song itself isn't named "All" but I honestly love everything about this album especially when I listen to the songs in chronological order. - Marianas Trench - Masterpiece TheatreSignificant song: All
Same with Ever After, I don't have a particular favourite but I love every song in the album. Maybe because Marianas Trench is my most favourite band. - Don Broco - PrioritiesSignificant song: Priorities
I just started listening to this band a few days ago and I like their music. Their song "Priorities" is one of my favourites because this is the first song I ever listened to from them. - Beyoncé - Beyoncé
Significant song: Flawless
Of course, I had to put the Queen B in here. I remember watching an interview for this album and two of the songs were just ad lib. She listened to the beat and the beat got sicka. Just kidding, the words came out of her mouth and produced music. - Paramore - ParamoreSignificant song: Proof
I haven't listened to Paramore in a while and when I pulled this up on Spotify, I loved every second of it. - Sleeping With Sirens - With Ears To See, And Eyes To HearSignificant song: The Left Side of Everything
- Sleeping With Sirens - If You Were A Movie, This Would Be Your SoundtrackSignificant song: Scene Two - Roger Rabbit
The songs of this album were acoustic versions of their songs from other albums. I liked how they titled each song with a "Scene". It was a break from the usual punk music. - Sleeping With Sirens - Let's Cheers To ThisSignificant song: If You Can't Hang
- Sleeping With Sirens - FeelSignificant song: Alone (ft. MGK)
The past four albums were all by SWS. I love their albums and what they sing about. - Pierce The Veil - Selfish MachinesSignificant song: Bulletproof Love
This was the first song I listened to from Pierce The Veil. I liked it because of the line "my love for you was bulletproof but you're the one who shot me." - Pierce The Veil - Collide With The SkySignificant song: King For A Day (ft. Kellin Quinn)
- Panic! At The Disco - Vices & VirtuesSignificant song: Let's Kill Tonight
- Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
Significant song: There's A Reason Why These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet
One of the main reasons why I love Panic! is their song titles. - Panic! At The Disco - Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!Significant song: This Is Gospel
- Panic! At The Disco - Pretty. Odd.Significant song: Nine In The Afternoon
The reason why Nine In The Afternoon is a significant song is because it's the first song that I've ever heard from P!ATD. Another reason why I love P!ATD is that almost every album, it's different. Sure there are similarities but not everything is the same. - My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
Significant song: All
I just... can't choose one. All of the songs in this album are incredible and I love every single one of them. And, this is the first album I listened to from MCR. - My Chemical Romance - Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys
Significant song: Planetary GO!
I have a poster of MCR in my room and I haven't taken it down since. Believe me or not, MCR is my first favourite band. The band that got me listening to P!ATD, FOB, and other great bands. - My Chemical Romance - Conventional Weapons
Significant song: The Light Behind Your Eyes
[ugly sobbing] THIS WAS THE LAST ALBUM MCR RELEASED BEFORE THEY BROKE UP. - My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge
Significant song: Helena
[more ugly sobbing] - Mallory Knox - Signals
Significant song: Wake Up
I found this band on Spotify while listening to Don Broco. I found that they were similar and yes. I love this album. - Marina & the Diamonds - The Family Jewels
Significant song: Oh No!
I fount MATD on YouTube while watching this tribute to Homestuck's Vriska Serket (who is my most favourite character in Homestuck <33) and Oh No! was the song used for the video. Sadly, this album isn't on Spotify. - Marina & the Diamonds - Electra Heart
Significant song: Primadonna
I love Primadonna only because of her performance on a show once. It was very simple yet Marina performed the song like she had no problem at all. - John Mayer - Battle Studies
Significant song: Edge of Desire
How could I not put John Mayer in here? This was the first album that I've ever listened to that's from him. I found the song Edge of Desire in one of Isaiah Munoz's choreography videos which I found very alluring. - Ed Sheeran - +
Significant song: Drunk
Ed Sheeran is another mandatory thing in this list. His songs can be so feel-y especially when eating ice cream. - Ed Sheeran - X
Significant song: Tenerife Sea
I discovered this album when Thinking Out Loud became popular. I loved that song until I got sick of it. I still find myself singing it sometimes, to be honest. - Mindy Gledhill - Pocketful of Poetry
Significant song: Pocketful of Poetry
Her songs can instantly put me in a good mood. If I listen to this while walking, I'll feel like skipping instead of boring old walking. - 5 Seconds of Summer - 5 Seconds of Summer
Significant song: Amnesia
I love the boys of 5SOS. They're not a band I'm dying for but I love the fact that they're friends with MTrench, PTV, FOB, and SWS. I remember seeing the hype of this band and thought that they were something like 1D but I was wrong. - Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour
Significant song: All
I love how Sam Smith came out before he released this album. The reason why he came out before releasing it was because he didn't want people to think of him differently. This album can be so #hugot most of the time. I feel like Sam Smith is a normal person who takes his experience and turns them into song lyrics. I wanna have coffee with him and just talk. - Fall Out Boy - Folie a Deux
Significant song: America's Sweetheart
America's Sweetheart was the first song I've heard from FOB and I thought that it was a catchy tune. It was a while before I started listening to the whole album and their other albums so this wasn't the first album I've heard from them. - Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High
Significant song: Thnks fr th Mrmrs
This was the first album I've listened to from FOB. I thought Thnks fr th Mrmrs was a cool song so I thought I'd check out the rest of the album. - Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree
Significant song: Sugar We're Going Down
We're going down down dudududdwaaaaaaa and suga we going down swinging. I'll be yo number wun witha bulle a loaded cod complex cock it and pull it. - Fall Out Boy - Take This To Your Grave
Significant song: Dead On Arrival - Fall Out Boy - Save Rock and Roll
Significant song: All
This album came out in 2013, right after their hiatus. The world was going mad because it hasn't heard anything from FOB in three years. This album was kind of pop-ish but I like the irony. Save rock and roll but their music had a hint of pop. - Fall Out Boy - Believers Never Die
Significant song: All
Duh, how could I put a best hits album in here without liking all of the songs? - Angus & Julia Stone - Angus & Julia Stone
Significant song: Death-Defying Acts
Listening to them while falling asleep was a pretty good feeling. Their songs have this vibe that you just don't want to be killed. (heh music reference) - John Legend - Love In The Future
Significant song: All Of Me
I don't know if I'm the only one who's sick of hearing All of Me. I love that song until my ears were tired from listening to it. I remember trying to learn the song on the piano and listening to it over and over again. Nonetheless, the song is the kind of song you'd want to serenade someone with. Listen to the whole album, it is amazing. - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist
Significant song: Ten Thousand Hours
I have to say, when Thrift Shop came out, it got stuck in my head. When Can't Hold Us was released, I got addicted. I thought "hmm maybe the whole album is good." I checked it out and I love the way Macklemore raps. - ByStarlight - Antics
Significant song: Here's To The Times
I found out this group when Josh Ramsay said that if you changed one word in Mtrench's song called "Here's To The Zeroes", you'd get a ByStarlight song. - The 1975 - The 1975
Significant song: Fallingforyou
I kept seeing this band on my twitter feed and I wondered what the hype was so I listened to them on Spotify. Their songs are the kind of songs I'd listen to while reading a book. I don't know what the opinions are of the others but I like their music. - All Time Low - Nothing Personal
Significant song: Weightless
Ah yes, ATL. One of the most popular punk pop bands. I found out about them around 2010. This was the time when I listened to MCR and started exploring similar bands. - All Time Low - So Wrong, It's Right
Significant song: Remembering Sunday - Arctic Monkeys - AM
Significant song: R U Mine?
Another one of the bands that seem to be popular today. Their songs are the kind of songs you'd want to listen to while driving, I'd say. I'm not legal to drive yet though. Nonetheless, it's fun to listen to in car trips. - The Cab - Symphony Soldier
Significant song: Angel With A Shotgun - Daft Punk - Daft PunkSignificant song: All
Who could not like Daft Punk? I mean, their music is something unique. I don't even know what genre they fit in. - Foxes - Glorious
Significant song: Youth
Foxes's cover art for her singles and this album are minimalist but for some reason, I really like them. It's just Foxes wearing something simple, a solid colour background, some wind, and words. - Goo Goo Dolls - Magnetic
Significant song: Rebel Beat
YES. THE GOO GOO DOLLS. They're my favourite old-ish band. I know they've been in the music industry for a while now but I don't exactly know how long. Their music brings me to a good mood instantly. - Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl
Significant song: Slide - He Is We - My Forever
Significant song: All About Us
I made a mistake in putting the cover art in the collage. Anyway, their songs make you want to fall in love. I mean the tune and the lyrics of the songs are sweet and I think this whole album could be a soundtrack for a chick flick. - Jason Derulo - Tattoos
Significant song: Marry Me
This is an odd one out on the list but I don't know why like it? - Jason Mraz - Love Is A Four Letter Word
Significant song: Everything Is Sound
Another artist who I really love listening to when I'm sad. - Jason Mraz - We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things
Significant song: I'm Yours - Justin Bieber - Believe
Significant song: Fall
DON'T JUDGE. I've been a belieber since 2010 and I still am. I just haven't been as intense as I was a few years ago. I never stopped unliking biebs and he still gives me goosebumps when I listen to his songs. Oh, and I was supposed to put the acoustic album in here but I figured, they'd kinda be the same. - Justin Bieber - My World 2.0
Significant Song: Up
I could not stop listening to the album when I got it. I was addicted to this. This album made me love Justin a lot and it made me a belieber. I remember being so sad because I wasn't able to go to his concert here in 2010. - Justin Bieber - Journals
Significant song: All That Matters
I remember Justin's #MusicMondays and I loved every single one of them. His voice always makes me cry because it's so good. - The Killers - Battleborn
Significant song: Miss Atomic Bomb - Magic! - Don't Kill The Magic
Significant song: Rude
I love the vibe of their songs. I think I'd describe them as "songs to sing in the shower" - The Maine - Black and White
Significant song: Listen To Your Heart - The Maine - Can't Stop Won't Stop
Significant song: Everything I Ask For - The Maine - Forever Halloween
Significant song: These Four Words
The Maine is one of my forever favourite bands of all time. They've changed a little bit but I still love them. - The Maine - American Candy
Significant song: (Un)lost
Yes, I know this recently came out. I listened to it and I absolutely loved it. - Matt Webb - Right Direction
Significant song: Heartbreakers
Matt Webb! Of Marianas Trench! He also makes music! - Mayday Parade - A Lesson In Romantics
Significant song: Miserable At Best - The Oversight - Far From Gone
Significant song: Black and White
I heard about them because my cousin is the drummer for this band. Their lyrics are really something different, that's why I like their music. - Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart
Significant song: Kaleidescope Heart
Sara! I love her songs! They're so calming and they're sooooo relatable. - Sara Bareilles - The Blessed Unrest
Significant song: I Choose You - SNCKPCK - Songs For Someone You Love
Significant song: Oh Darling Deer
This album is so cute. I love how Snck made it purely just his voice and his uke. I remember watching one of his livestreams and he was performing Oh Darling Deer live. It was like a mini SNCKPCK concert. - TaeYang - Solar
Significant song: Wedding Dress
Wedding Dress was the first ever K-pop song I ever got addicted to. Now I'm studying how to play it on the piano. - Tonight Alive - All Shapes and Disguises
Significant song: To Die For - We The Kings - Somewhere Somehow
Significant song: Queen of Hearts
WTK has more of a summer vibe. Their songs are catchy and they're the kind to make you remember things from those two months of heat, fun, and experiences. - You Me At Six - Hold Me Down
Significant song: All
This was the first album I've listened to from YMAS and I love all of the songs. YMAS was also one of the first bands I listened to from their genre. - You Me At Six - Sinners Never Sleep
Significant song: Jaws On the Floor - You Me At Six - Cavalier Youth
Significant song: Too Young To Feel Old
Here are my top 72 albums! I think you can see in this post that I love listening to music and that I have a very diverse music style.
